For years I have wanted to get into Yoga but have always found a reason to not give it a chance. Well a couple of weeks ago I decided to give it a shot and went to a class at Yoga Tropics in Encinitas. The 7:00 am class was perfect. There was only around 10-12 people and plenty of space for movement, since I get a little claustrophobic it made it a lot easier to focus. The teachers are very friendly and willing to assist with anything.
At first it takes a bit to get used to the extraordinary heat that pumps through the class. If you like to sweat, which I do, then this type of Yoga will suit you. The Yoga itself if very relaxing and really allows you to focus on your breath and put the heat out of your mind. By the middle of the class you are feeling pretty damn good and loose. All my fear of yoga was gone and now I have a fond love for it.
At the 1 hour mark I am feeling pretty loose and relaxed. This is the best way to start out your day or end your day. I have done all sorts of exercises/workouts/what ever you want to call it and Yoga is the most satisfying of them all next to boxing. I know it seems like a contradiction-yoga and boxing, but these are the 2 exercises that I truly enjoy.
